Zoomer Cup Holder

The cup holder the chair should have come with.

The Journey Zoomer is a great little power chair — light, folds for the car, runs all day on a charge. What it lacks is a decent place to put a drink. The cup holders sold for it are generic clamp-on stroller parts, and they all want a round bar — which the Zoomer’s arms are not. So they end up mounted low on the seat leg, where they snag on doorframes, fight the fold, and eventually break. The chair in our family went through half a dozen.

So we designed one that belongs on this chair. The Zoomer’s joystick controller is ambidextrous — there’s a set of threaded mounting points in each arm, and one set is always empty. This holder bolts straight to the spare set with three screws: no clamps, no straps, mounted high where it clears legs and doorways, and the chair still folds with it attached. The design brief was short — sturdy, no moving parts, and it should look like it came with the chair.

Print one yourself; the STL is free. It’s a single solid part — we suggest PETG or stronger, since it lives outdoors and takes knocks. The file is set up for a left-side mount, opposite the usual right-side controls; if your controls sit on the left, just flip it in your slicer. Mounting hardware is three M6 × 12 cap screws with washers, and that’s the whole install.
